As part of our mission of Learning Together in God’s Love, we are committed to building meaningful links with people of different faiths and traditions. We are delighted to have fostered a strong relationship with Alma Primary School, a Jewish school within our community. Each year, Alma pupils are welcomed to our school to watch the Easter Story performance, giving them an opportunity to see how Christians celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. In turn, our Year 5 pupils visit Alma to learn about the festival of Pesach (Passover), deepening their understanding of Jewish faith and heritage. They also share the Easter story with Alma pupils, drawing out the important connections between Easter and Pesach as festivals of faith, freedom, and hope.
This partnership not only enriches the children’s religious education but also supports the promotion of British Values. By working alongside pupils of another faith, our children learn the importance of mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding, as well as the value of dialogue and shared learning. In this way, our school community continues to live out our mission to learn together in God’s love.

Our Year 5 pupils have also made a visit to the local synagogue. This experience provided them with valuable insight into Jewish worship, traditions, and community life. By engaging directly with another place of faith, pupils broadened their knowledge and developed respect for beliefs and practices that are different from their own. This visit enriched their religious education and supported the promotion of British Values, particularly mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding of other faiths and cultures.
